To my knowledge, there is no other car like it. Only 698 Lotus Esprit SE’s were made in 1990 and this is the only one with this beautiful color combination. The Lotus Esprit was the concept of English Race Car Driver Colin Chapman. He wanted a light well balanced race car design that had the attributes of exotic cars but that was affordable. Thus he labelled the Lotus Esprit a “Super Car.” It is fast and handles as well as an exotic due to its light weight, 50%-50% weight distribution, mid-engine design and wide tracking. t does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.4 seconds. It comes with a five speed gear box and a 264 Horsepower 2.2 Liter DOHC engine that increases to 280 Horsepower with the turbo. Top speed is listed at 168 MPH; however, race car drivers have reported official speeds of 175 MPH. The car weighs 2,866 pounds; therefore, it has an amazing weight to horsepower ratio of 11 to 1. Comes with full disc ventilated brakes, air conditioning, power windows and locks, a car alarm system, power mirrors, a rear spoiler, and a large removable sun roof that gives a convertible feel while driving. The interior is amazing with genuine connelly leather that still exudes that fresh leather smell. Car has been routinely serviced and recently serviced by Automotive International of Charlotte.
