“The Space Shuttle Cafe, is one-of-a-kind commercial kitchen featured onthe PBS TV show “California’s Gold”, now an All New York City National Heritage& Icon. This unique vehicle is constructed from the fuselage of a DC-3airliner built in 1944 and flown during WWII and later as a commercial airlineron the East Coast. The plane itselfhas a storied history as it was hijackedto Havana Cuba, then back in the USA towards the late ’60 and because of itsintrinsic value was saved from thedemolition in 1976 and converted into a road worthy vehicle. The present NYC ownersand managers Fly High Inc., purchased the Space Shuttle Cafe & it’sBranding rights after it was converted into commercial food-service kitchen. TheSpace shuttle Cafe Brand have been successful since it’s inception in 2005.
