$55,000 – Charlotte, NC:

“‘m selling my 1997 Viper GTS

If you’re looking at this ad, you’re probably familiar with these cars. One of the best looking cars ever made, in my opinion. They stopped making them so this is a classic and has the potential to appreciate significantly in the years to come.

In 1997, there were 1,671 Viper GTS cars produced. That year, they only made the Viper GTS in 2 colors: Red or Blue and White. Of the 1,671 produced that year, 965 were Blue and White and only 706 were red. So this is actually the more rare of the colors from that year. If you’re familiar with these cars, you also know a bunch (probably most) have been in accidents or totaled, dropping the number of clean title ’97 Vipers significantly. This is actually my 2nd Gen II Viper (I had a blue and white one before).

Add to that the incredible power this car has and you’ve got a rare, beautiful car that can blow the doors off just about anything out there.

Like many of you, I’ve had a handful of high hp cars (1,000hp Z06 & 750hp Z06, 750hp 911 Turbo, 750hp Mercedes S65 AMG, 600hp+ BMW M5, FBO Nissan GTR, Twin Turbo Gallardo, V10 R8 and a smattering of others), but the power delivery of this car is my favorite. With the incredibly wide and sticky rear tires (which will be due to be replaced soon), it just grips and goes. In my opinion, it has the perfect amount of power to put it to the ground. Too much more and these cars will go into the dreaded “Helicopter” spin. It has enough power to beat just about anything on the street.

The details on the car and modifications:

23,350 miles (I’ve put 250 miles on it over the past 2 weekends)
Belanger Headers
Full Borla Exhaust
Complete ROE oil system upgrade
Paxton Novi 2000 Polished Supercharger
8 rib upgrade
RTX Mcleod Clutch
Built t56 Transmission
Car has a cage and harnesses, but I only use the stock seatbelt
A/F and boost gauges
Fiske 18×10 up front and 18×13 in the rear
Baer Front Brake Upgrade
Car is lowered on coilover suspension

Car is sitting on Mickey Thompson 345/35/18’s in the rear and 295/35/18 Nitto’s in the front. The rear tires are getting close, but still have killer grip.

I also have a binder full of receipts as well as original viper books and catalogs.

Feel free to reach out with any questions. I do have a video of the car running I’d be happy to share, as well as other pics, with an interested party.

Good stock examples go for about the same price that I’m asking and this car has $20K+ in nice, high performance aftermarket modifications. Feel free to make me a reasonable offer … I’ve got a kid on the way and he’s due to be here in the next 2 weeks so the Viper needs to go…

PLEASE NOTE: I tried to be as forthright as possible on the condition, which is why I included a picture of the rock chip above the headlight (with my thumb to show proportion … it’s very small, maybe 1/8th inch) and the weatherstripping that’s coming loose on the driver’s side window. Other than those minor imperfections, the car is in very good condition.
