$1,000 – Berwick, ME:

“Since 2013, I’ve driven this Saab 900 up and down I-95 to work about 60 miles round trip. The car was rock solid until last fall when the transmission began to fail. Reverse gear is now completely gone and the drive gears are inconsistent. After five years, I’m moving on to a new summer car and this 900 is ready to become someone else’s project, or potentially a donor/parts car for a 900 of your own. This car has been serviced heavily at local Saab repair shops and drove beautifully until the transmission finally gave out. A folder of service receipts is included with the car. This car passed Maine state inspection in April without issues before the transmission became a larger issue.

Top goes up and down and is almost brand new. The dashboard has only small cracks and is in good condition for the age of the vehicle. Body is in good shape with little rust on the frame. The major supports that typically rust out are all solid. Bumpers are in good shape, including original chrome trim. The passenger door is rotted out at the bottom but I have a replacement red door that is included in this sale. Car seeps oil from the engine in a few places but runs strong. If you’re pulling the engine to do a transmission job on this vehicle you should do the steering rack at the same time. The odometer does not spin regularly and mileage is estimated to be closer to 225K than the 205K that shows. Tires are solid all around and only have around 15,000 miles on them. Car has two original Saab keys that work in all doors/locks. The turbo provides solid boost and pulls strong, especially at highway speeds.

This car is a perfect automatic to manual transmission swap candidate.

Most things inside the car still work, including all dashlights, the original OEM Clarion radio and CD player (six cartridges are in the car), power windows and power locks. The leather is in solid shape on both the front and rear seats. Front fog lights work and are fully intact, including hard to find Bosch lens guards. Car also includes an original parade boot / tonneau cover to house the convertible top frame (and the rubber straps behind the rear seats are all in tact and fully usable). AC, cruise control and heated seats don’t work.

My preference is to sell the vehicle whole and not to part it out. Email for additional details or to arrange a time to look at it.

Maintenance/upgrades since 2014 includes:

Upgraded red box APC from SPG model
New top and door cards installed by G&L in Elliot, ME
New General Altimax tires (appx 15,000 miles of wear)
