$4,500 – Hillsboro, OR:

“Selling my very well maintained c36 amg. If you do not know about the c36 it’s worth while to look it up and see the history for yourself. These are very rare cars. In 1997 only 230 were imported to North America and the c36 was the first AMG that was produced after Mercedes bought the company. Officially 1995 was the first year for the c36 but the 1997 was best as it has the updated wiring harness that doesn’t fail and the super strong 722.6 5-speed transmission.

As the bmw M3 is to the 325i the Mercedes C36 is to the c280. A bored and stroked version of the M104 engine. With head work, intake and full exhaust all tuned from AMG.

As far as my car, I have serviced it well and it’s still in great shape. Please ask any questions about service. The transmission fluid has been changed every 40k since I have owned it. The conductor plate and electronics connector plug has also been changed as well as the pressure regulator spring in valve body. Regular oil changes and other services. Spark plugs, wires and coils have been replaced. Diff fluid was changed when I first acquired the car.

Suspension/wheels: I have rebuilt and replaced the entire suspension. Solid w208 bushings in the control arms. Vogtland springs on #5/4 pads. Koni adjustable yellow shocks. Wheels are Brabus mark V genuine two piece. But have rash/pothole damage from daily use. Nothing terrible, but absolutely refinish-able. These wheels are very expensive and worth it to get refinished.

Brakes: custom adapted brembo 4 piston big brakes from C32 amg on the front and stock on the rear with upgraded cross drilled rotors.

Body: look at the pictures it’s pretty nice other than normal wear and tear for a 21 year old car. The only real dents to speak of is on the hood and top of the passenger fender. The one on the fender could be removed with paint less dent repair. The hood would be easier just to swap as there are thousands of silver c280’s around. But this is if you wanted it to be perfect. Look at the pictures they speak for themselves.

Stereo: I relocated the heater controls to lower in the dash and installed a double din receiver to upgrade to hands free calling. iPhone lighting connection wired and reverse camera upgradable. VERY clean and factory looking. I also did it in a way they could be reverted back if desired.

Things needed: as it always seems with buying used cars is tires, the rears are shot. Fronts are ok but need to be swapped from inner to outer as the camber wears the inner. The power steering pump is tired. The steering box I replaced with a rebuilt unit during the suspension rebuild but the pump is original and a little slow on first start up in the morning. It still works fine after a minute but worth mentioning.

I know this is a long listing but hopefully it answers most questions. NO TRADES!!! And please only contact me with genuine interest. The price is negotiable however don’t waste our time with unreasonable offers. Ideally I’d like to see this go to another enthusiast. I also have a box with spare parts collected along the way to go with. It’s a high mileage but well taken care of.
