“1974 MAZDA Rx3. Originally set up for SCCA ITA, ideal for vintage racing; currently running with VSCDA in group 8.

The car was originally built in Wisconsin and has been successfully campaigned in the Midwest until the mid-1990’s. After being parked for some 10 years I located it in 2006 and began the process of updating and improving the car while racing mostly with VSCDA. The body is in great shape with very minor road racing patina.

ENGINE: 13B 4 port hybrid, street port with 84 GSL SE rotor housings from MazdaSpeed with 12A cast irons {having the tall intake ports), carbon apex seals with a new, lightened flywheel.
48 IDA Weber with 40 mm chokes on top of a polished and matched Racing Beat intake manifold, using a custom-built cold-air ram intake with a K&N air filter. Holly Red fuel filter with an inline K&N fuel filter.

TRANS: 1997 Miata 5 sp gearset with all new syncros installed in an aluminum 1979 Rx7 housing and shifter with a MazdaSpeed racing clutch.

SUSPENSION: Front adjustable camber plates with front adjustable lower control arms. 350 lb Eibach coil springs over Tokico adjustable racing shocks.
QA1 double adjustable shocks in the rear with a panhard bar setup.

WHEELS: (1) SET of TWO GATES Wheels 13 x 7 with Toyo R888’s ; (1) SET of PANASPORTS 13 x 7 with Toyo R888’s; (1) set of silver painted steel wheels and (1) SET of Mazda stock aluminum white powder-coated wheels with street rubber used for off-season storage or for track day rain tires.

BRAKES: Front- 1st Gen 1983 Rx7 brakes with Hawk Blue pads. Rear-1983 GSL SE Discs with Hawk Blue with S.S. Braided lines.

INTERIOR: Quick-Release steering wheel. Autometer tach, oil temp & oil pressure with low oil pressure warning light, water temp with high temp warning light, volt meter, fuel pressure gauge. Two AEM Air/Fuel ratio gauges.
