$19,000 – Meridian, ID:

“This is a 10 passenger 1997 F800 crew cab truck with an 8.3 Cummins and an Eaton Fuller 10 speed transmission. It will pull virtually anything and has 10 seats and still a ton of room for all your gear, toys and trailer or 5th wheel. It was originally owned by the railroad and was a crane truck. I stripped everything off the bed down to the frame, added a semi truck sleeper cab with seating for 5. The sleeper has a ton of room, even with 5 passengers and also has separate heaters, fans, LED lights and 12v and USB plugins to keep all the electronics charged on long trips. I then custom built the 8 foot by 10 foot bed. Each side has two side rails that can be independently lowered or folded down depending on if you are towing a 5th wheel or not and the tailgate can be moved from front or back rails or taken off completely. There is a custom cover for the 5th wheel hitch that is solid enough you can drive your ATVs over it no problem while loading. There is a built in ladder to the 5×8 safari rack which has enough room for all your bikes, or a ton of gear. All the seats inside are leather (after market from GMC Yukon). The best part about this truck is it only has 4000 hours and 130,000 miles. This motor has known for consistently going 400K-500K miles and many make it much more. Because it was a crane truck, it still has a PTO and all the hydraulic lines are still there if you ever wanted to get creative. I also installed a train horn, so if you really need to get someone’s attention, oh boy…it shakes the ground (we take it to the local 4th of July parade every year and load it with kids and water guns and it’s always a hit). If you are a prepper, this is the truck for you. No electronic parts means EMT proof. The heater works fine, but the AC has never worked (not sure what is wrong with it). This is a solid, dependable truck. It starts every time, even in the cold. Other than a blown tire, I have literally never had a problem with it. After the blown tire, I replaced all four back tires (about $1500 and they have less than 500 miles on them). So, as for the negatives, I installed a radio and new speakers when I bought it but it quit working (there were nice speakers but a cheap stereo so probably a new deck and it would all work fine). The speakers were wired to the sleeper cap too. The passenger door handle does not work from the inside. I keep meaning to fix it, but in the meantime, my wife just unrolls the window and opens it from the outside handle that works fine. That’s it, everything else on it works fine. This really is a great truck and I hate to see it go, we just don’t drive it anymore.
