NO – Tire Kickers or Low Ballers

Up for sale is a well respected car among Toyota Cressida / Import community.

This car was purchased as a life long project in 2006. It was a beautiful, rust free car from Kentucky. Some early picks are included.

After many Chicago winters and not being garaged for the last eight year, it’s starting to show it’s age. However, not before tons money have been invested. Even in its current condition, it’s still a head turner. You did not see many when they were new and you never see one now.

This rare wagon was purchased as a two car project. It was being built to haul another mid 80’s convertible. It has hauled a few cars over time (Mustang, Celicas, Cressidas and other large automotive parts). It was built for it.

The car was built to be a turbo car. All of the turbo oil and cooling plumbing is in place. Because of a young kid, I ran out time and the project did not progress. The car was still used as a reliable daily driver up until about 2 years ago.

I am meticulous about trying to stay with factory Toyota parts or parts from other Cressidas. I have owned at least 7 Cressidas from 1986 – 1988, and have parted out several cars to get this one where it is today.

Here is a list Genuine Toyota parts or custom items that have been installed on this car.
– 3.0L Inline 6 cylinder (factory = 2.8L)
– 5 Speed Manual Transmission (Cressida wagons were not available with a manual transmission)
– Limited Slip Torsen T2 Disk Brake Rear End (Cressida wagons only came with drum brakes and an open diff)
– Digital Dash
– JDM 3000 Intake Manifold
– 6MGE Crank (longer stroke took it from a 2.8L to a 3.0L)
– 6MGE Pulley (allows all factory accessories to be used)
– Factory Trip Computer / Monitor
– Custom Enkei 92 Mesh Wheels Front – 16×7 +25 with 205/55/16 tires, Rear – 16×8 +25 (inch add to back of wheel) with 245/45/16 tires

There is over $20K invested in this car. Again, it was never intended to be sold.

About 60K miles ago, the engine was built and manual transmission gaskets replaced. The rear end was rebuilt about 15K miles ago and it has a Torsen T2 LSD with 3:90 gears. Well documented build.

After sitting for so long and not much time to work on the car, it needs maintenance and some body work. I have too many projects and have to let some go.

I will continue to update this listing and pictures.

If you cannot tell by now, I do not want to sell the car and will not except any low ball offers, despite to condition. I will be fair and reasonable. It’s an extremely rare car with even more rare options added.

Depending on what your goals are; restore, daily driver, drift car, race car, etc., I can sweeten the deal with some other items I will throw in.

With the extremely rare JDM parts and options installed, this car can be parted out and get over $4K.

Text me with questions. I will call you time permitting.
