“LANCIA Beta Scorpion (Montecarlo) 1976. Just out of 30+ year dry storage from original owner. 41,000 miles. Vin No. ********037. Perfect for 037 rally car replica I would think. Manufactured 12/1975. This is a complete, unmolested car that I believe to be 100% solid. I can’t find any metal that is not solid anywhere on this car (under, or over, inside or out). It has only been on the road for it’s first 11 years of it’s life, averaging about 3700 miles per year, then stored. Has some small nicks, dings, scratches & faded paint here & there consistent with age, but to me, presentable as it is. Front bumper is bent in the center, but I would change them to euro style bumpers from Midwest Bayless if I were to keep it. I changed the coil & spark plug wires, added some fresh oil, gas & it fired right up. Runs smooth with good oil pressure, but I wouldn’t recommend running it much without changing the timing belt first. There is some oil leaking from high up on the rear of the engine (valve cover gasket?, head gasket?, exhaust studs?). All other systems need to be gone over due to the 30 years it sat idle (brakes, clutch, cooling system, etc.) All of the interior is nice with the exception of the leather under the seat covers. I can have them recovered in leather for the buyer for a reasonable extra cost if desired, or they can be used as they are, or replaced. Drivers window handle is loose as are the front & rear lid release levers (can still open lids). All glass is good. Top is good & working as it should. Car does have A/C. Again, to the best of my knowledge this is a complete, solid, original, very early North American car (Vin # 037) that should be an easy project to put back on the road. Comes with clean NJ title. Being sold as- is. I described the car to the best of my abilities, but please make arrangments to inspect it for yourself. As far as I can tell there are about 500 known intact Scorpions left in NA out of total of around 1800 imported. It is presently being stored in a heated building in Woodbridge NJ where it can be viewed. I will also be listing on Ebay & several other sites in the near future.
