“1977 Lancia scorpion for sale. Asking $6,500, OBO. Car is non-oped. Face to Face cash sale only ! This car has been stored indoors for at least the last 36 years. If you’re 6’1” like I am, you shouldn’t consider this car for yourself, as you’ll be cramped up when driving it. I read on line that there were only 1,801 of these manufactured. I should have sold it back when I had it running well, a few years ago. I’ve replaced the, master cylinder, clutch cylinder and clutch slave, twice. I made an assumption that the first set had been on the shelf too long but there was no change after their replacement. It’s almost a uncertainty, that the four flexible brake hoses, as well as the rubber clutch slave hose, all of which are 42 years old, have deteriorated internally to the point that they are ballooning up and absorbing all the hydraulic pressure that comes their way. A number of years back I had the brake booster overhauled. The starter motor has been recently replaced, as well as most of the shift linkage bushings, I bought the full set of them and had a custom bushing compression tool made to the spec of the bushing supplier, This tool and the remainder of the bushings, come with the vehicle. There is a test tube bolted in place of the catalytic converter, it had been put in there before I got the car. It has never had a catalytic converter on it, since I’ve owned it, if your plan includes operating it anywhere other than race tracks here in California, one of course will have to be purchased and installed. This scorpion comes with a spare engine, that is still mounted in a 77 Lancia beta, if you would like it. It also has a clear title but it has become badly rusted around the windshield and the front end over the last few years, since it has been parked outdoors.
